Somers Town Museum is located at 152 Phoenix Street, Somers Town, housed in a charming Grade II listed building. The museum is lovingly managed by Diana and her dedicated team, including Katie, Diane, and others.
The museum offers a captivating mix of history and charm. It includes a 1930s-style lounge with a piano, inviting visitors to pause and play spontaneous melodies. Its collection boasts several recovered finials that had once gone missing, reclaimed through auctions supported by generous donations.
They host exciting events all day and evening, creating a lively space where people gather and connect, making it a genuine community hub. Plus, their coffee is absolutely outstanding!
You could easily spend hours exploring photo albums, spotting familiar faces, or reading the detailed timeline that spans from 1788 to the slum clearance in the 1930s, led by Father Basil Jellicoe. (That’s another story you’ll discover in the posts here.)
