5.0 out of 5 stars A Phenomenal Legacy – What a wonderful legacy Sue and her family have left for the generations to follow. This account of life in those times seems unbelievable in today’s world. This was the generation that made Britain Great. Somerstown has, I suspect, many tales worth telling. A compelling read which leaves one wanting more. Well done, Sue, for taking this across the line. Many thanks.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must for Somerstowners – A wonderful history of a local Somerstown girl.
I couldn’t put it down once I started reading.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great Read- I was born in Somers Town, so I was able to picture all the places that were mentioned and know the younger generations of the Stopps family. It was a lovely read. Just wonderful that all the memories had been written down so a book could be made
Well done ⭐️📚

5.0 out of 5 stars A must-read for anyone interested in Somers Town and wartime England – What a fascinating read! I very much enjoyed this wonderful book, which brought to life the reality of growing up in Somers Town and living in wartime England. It’s made me want to visit the area and seek out all the places mentioned. Highly recommended!
5.0 out of 5 stars – A proper story and not a “ghost” written fairytale – I was able to relate to so much of this story. Enjoyed every moment of it and didn’t want it to end.

• A wonderful history of a local Somers Town girl. I couldn’t put it down once I started reading.
• Great book. What a special lady. Brought back lots of memories for me. I need to send a copy to my best friend, Betty, who lives in America. A Somers Town Girl. Good Luck!
• I’m reading your book right now whilst recovering from a hip operation. It’s a lovely read, and what a legacy to leave/have for your family.
• Lovely photos, great memories
• Got my copy yesterday, I’m halfway through it already.
• Just bought it on Amazon for my mum. She was born and brought up in polygon buildings. She’ll love it. She’s 91.
• Cannot wait to read this. I am not a born and bred Somers Towner (I was born in Kentish Town), but I have a strong connection due to my Mum and her 10 siblings and subsequently, numerous cousins.
• Great book, brought loads of memories back and gained relations I didn’t know existed
• Just reading your book now, it’s great

• I’m so looking forward to the paperback version, as I don’t do Kindle
• I just got two copies of your book – one for me and one for my sister, Pauline. She’s 8 years older than me, so a proper wartime baby. I think I was 11 or 12 when we left Borehamwood for Worcestershire, and she was away at Salisbury Teacher Training College. My Dad was a Londoner (from Clapham/Wandsworth), and my mum was from Herefordshire.
Your Mum’s memories are wonderful, and we love the way she jotted down stories and left them for you to gather together. What a wonderful memorial ❤️
• Revived so many happy memories; I loved it. Thank you. Xx
Enjoyed reading your book and looking forward to the launch – well done
