I was thrilled when Diana from The People’s Museum reached out to invite me to host my book launch and give a talk there. It was the perfect venue, right where Mum’s story began in 1926. Naturally, I accepted and began preparing my talk and slideshow for May 8th, 2025.
The talk was scheduled to start at 6pm, and guests began arriving early. It was a beautiful, warm evening, and people gathered outside, filling the pavement and the seating area. Everyone was in high spirits, with lively chatter and laughter filling the air. Drinks and refreshments were provided by Diana and her wonderful team of helpers. The atmosphere was delightful, setting the perfect tone for the evening ahead.
As the moment arrived to begin, the museum filled with eager guests who received a warm welcome from Diana. After her introduction, the evening officially began. I presented my carefully prepared slideshow, and Katie, with her signature grace and perfect timing, seamlessly coordinated each slide to complement my talk.
The talk was warmly received and followed by an engaging Q&A session, during which guests shared valuable insights and asked thoughtful questions. Many also contributed their own family stories and anecdotes, adding depth to the conversation. It was a memorable evening and a true pleasure to connect with so many kind and knowledgeable people.
Signing my book after the talk and presentation was an unforgettable experience. Having your copy personally inscribed by the author seemed popluar and creates a personal and meaningful keepsake!
